The coffee and juice are amazing. They reorganized the inside to create more seating. It's not cramped though. Just has more places to sit. The service is always wonderful. They hire people who are friendly and personable. I really enjoy coming inside so I rarely go through the drive thru. Sadly, due to irresponsible dog owners not watching their animals and allowing them to wander behind the food counter...dogs are no longer allowed inside at Blue Star. But the deck is still a great place to relax with your furry friends and the jar of dog bones still lives behind the counter. Train and ensure your dogs behave people!

I really like this place!! Whether you feel like a breakfast bagel or a tasty, fresh, and squeezed on the spot juice then this Is the place for you. I really like the egg and cheese bagel, and as far as juice the glow is my all time favorite! Good food, great service, and freshly made!!

  • Gwen A.

Their juices are awesome. Try the Glow. It's a little coffee shop on the corner right before the highway exit. It's where I always stop to grab a coffee before taking my dog over to Tanner Park. It also seems to be a hot spot for students to study in the back.

Blue star, you lose 2 stars and drop from 4 to a disappointing 2 for these reasons: RUDE lady at the drive through. Is she the owner? Who is the nasty lady???!! Where are all the kind souls I use to see and be greeted by!? No longer allowing food orders in the drive through!? There goes your morning commuters. Not a good business decision at all. Boo. Oh...and half the menu is gone. Such a shame....

Stopped by here to get some breakfast after dropping off my dog at the groomers. They have great bagel sandwiches and I love the juice bar.

I've been here quite a few times on my way to Tanner Park with my pup and have never had great service, but also never terrible. Today I went in for a coffee and some food. Asked for a salad when I saw the sign advertising salads and was directed to the fridge, where there was a five day old packaged salad with brown avocados and wilted soggy lettuce. I asked if they were able to make me a new one, they said no. But they could make a veggie wrap. I then asked if they could just make some veggies that would go in the wrap, just..without being wrapped. Again I was told no. So I took my coffee and left. Cool.

What a great coffee shop! Juice, food and coffee are all great. Leather couches and wood interior create a comfortable ambience. Bonus: attached to a bike co-op.

I want to love Blue Star. I really do. Theoretically, it is the perfect place. In reality, it is so far from perfect. First of all, from the moment you walk in, you can feel their hatred. These people do not like their customers. They despise you. They can't believe you have the audacity to walk in there and ask them to make you something. They are put out by having to serve you. If you have a nose ring or a tattoo maybe you'll get better treatment. (Edited: your tattoo must be visible--mine is not). But if you're a normal lady (maybe even a, gasp, soccer mom) they will literally look at you like you just stumbled in from Mars. The juice is warm, the proportions aren't quite right, their hygiene could use some help and it is the most expensive juice place I've ever been to. Not going back.

I always want it to better and it isn't. Years ago I went here once and it was the best mocha I've ever had! Since then it's always disappointing. I don't go that often and today I stopped by and eh. No flavor. The girl at the drive up was really friendly so she gets 5 stars!

    (2)
  • Jenny Z.

Friendly staff and awesome choices for juice! Lots of vegies and fruits to choose from. My only compliant world b that it's sorta outta the way from the city. Would def visit again on my next visit!

  • Michelle P.

This place is great! I am visiting from out of town, and was told to check this place out. The girl that helped me pick out my juice was really knowledgable, and told me a few of her favorites. I went with the Super Green, it was delightful! I wish I would have ordered the biggest size (I drank the 20oz way too fast!) I will definitely be back before I head home. I really would like to try the breakfast sandwiches they offer! 5 stars for great juice, and awesome customer service.

  • Sam K.

Location is great. Very convenient for commute to work. Juice is fantastic. They didn't have one of the ingredients for my smoothie I wanted but the lady at the drive thru made a fantastic recommendation to replace it with and it turned out great. And you gotta love that they have boiled peanuts for all of us transplants from the south. Also they might have the best breakfast burrito in town. I know, sounds crazy, but seriously give it a shot.

  • Chris K.

Breakfast bagels all day- really like the Mediterranean & the canyon rim. Plus the fresh juices are awesome-- The Green one was definitely healthy, not so tasty. Ha Service was great. They were really nice and friendly, they are really accomidating on what you want in your juices -- you can add whatever you want. They style of this place is hip and has a very active indie feel. Patio seating is a plus for the summer

  • Scott P.

I used to be ok with this place. Not so clean with dogs hanging around inside, but the juice was a reasonable price. They've just doubled their prices! They are now more expensive than most juice bars around town while remaining just as hygienically challenged as before. Even more annoying is the NOT so bright or nice staff there. The latest half-wit behind the counter (in a snarky tone) informed me that they recently did a price evaluation and decided to double their prices. I've read other reviewers write about their rude girls at the drive-in, and other issues; however, I think it's completely gone down hill. I was the only one there yesterday...no cars in the parking lot during prime time. Good job BlueStar!

  • Kate B.

Definitely 5 stars on the juice and coffee, but the food takes a bit long. However I was very impressed with the staff when they acknowledged my wait with free juice cards for me and my two friends. I have been back many many times but usually just for the beverages. The location is convenient and the parking is adequate. I love how the juice menu changes seasonally. One of my favorite juices had local seasonal peaches, and while I was bummed it wasn't there on my next visit I appreciate that the ingredients are so fresh! I also like the space for not just getting a coffee to go, but sitting in the comfortable back room and enjoying some wifi. Also I enjoyed the milk options for my coffee, and they were stored in a cool funky vintage fridge so you can help yourself! Overall, everything I've ordered here has been delicious:)

Came upon this place but there was nowhere to park. Husband parked the car with me still in the car next to the patio and went in to get a drink. While he was there one of the employees said "do you not know where the parking lot is"? When my husband said there wasn't a spot the employee pointed out a spot had left since he'd come in. Husband asked if he could just get a coffee and go and the employee refused unless he moved his car so he left. He was really condescending, we were not impeding traffic into the place and we would have been gone as soon as the coffee was made. I have no idea how the coffee is, the service however, left a bitter taste in my mouth. I won't be going back.

Very good bagels! Good house coffee, and good fresh squeeze juice. Love this morning joint!

Funky earthy healthy friendly place . Generous cheesy veggie omelette with great jam for toast and salsa for hash browns. Great value!

  • Katie M.

I love the classic bagel sandwich so much I'll make a special trip for it. There is ample seating and a laid-back interior with great morning staff on weekday mornings and weirdly standoffish staff on weekend mornings. Whatever. The one huge drawback for me: their coffee is undrinkable. I mean TERRIBLE. I cave every time and get a coffee with my bagel because breakfast is incomplete without a coffee (for me), but the result wavers between "I can choke this down if I add enough honey and cream" and "I'm just gonna covertly toss this in the trash, now". A huge blemish on an otherwise great little café.

    (3)
  • Mike E.

Great coffee, plenty of outlets and tables for work that are big enough for a group or for individuals to comfortably spread out. wifi fast too. Also, there are couches for those who want to just relax rather than work. Comfortable lodge atmosphere.

  • Anita C.

Yummy bagel sandwiches, freshly squeezed juice, and friendly staff! I got the Super-C which is pineapple, orange, grapefruit and ginger- so refreshing. There are also friendly dogs hangin out which was cool. Want to go back and try their coffee and another bagel sandwich.

George and new employees, My best friend and I have been coming to Blue Star for almost 4 years now and in the last six or so months everything has changed. It started with the turn over from the nice and friendly staff that knew our names to bitter employees. Then followed by decorating and ambience changes (we came here because it was a cool hang out with awesome coffee and comfy couches and a nice patio) has anyone seriously said one positive thing about the new and "improved" seating? Also about three weeks ago i ordered bacon, eggs and hashbrowns and was given a very plain breakfast begal and the guy told me that is what i ordered.. why would i have mentioned hashbrowns if i was getting a sandwich? He just argued that he was right instead of just giving me what I wanted. It is so sad that we won't be coming back but since I'm sitting in my comfy car in the parking lot writing this instead of sitting inside that should say something. Fair well Blue Star fair well..

  • Haley B.

I like Blue Star! I've grabbed juice and iced coffee from their drive through on the way home from the dog park and both have been great. The service has been pleasant as well and the employees never forget treats for the dogs! Yesterday I almost drove by but circled back when I saw a sign for 24 oz. of watermelon juice for $5. Boy, am I glad that I did. That first sip vaulted me out of the driver's seat and right over the moon! Next time I might take the cashier's suggestion and add lime or mint. Go try it!

  • Dre S.

The best fresh juice in Utah. They are also at wheeler farm on Sundays and the farmers market on Saturdays. The owners are great people as well!

    (5)
  • Jill F.

Delicious, friendly, fast, ample parking. Ordered the blue banana smoothy and Millcreek bagel sandwich. Great lunch! Everything is fresh. Clean facilities. Doubles as a bike shop. Defiantly returning to try the juices!

  • L G.

Freshhhhh juice. I got the heartbeet juice with beet, orange, carrot, and lemon. I literally feel like this is pumpin my heart to higher healthier levels. Love it and so tasty!

  • Amanda K.

Super fresh & healthy! What more could a girl ask for after a few days of awesome skiing in the mountains of Utah? Alex (my boyfriend) and I stopped here for a quick breakfast before catching our flight home to good 'ole St. Louis. We were pleasantly surprised with a variety of bagel sandwiches and juice concotions. I chose the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich and the "Cobra" juice. The sandwich was a flavorful combonation of bacon, egg, pesto, red peppers, and mozzarella...a.k.a. the perfect start to my morning. To accompany the sandwich was the zesty "Cobra" juice made of beet, apple, ginger, and carrot. This juice will wake you up with the kick of ginger...I am a fan of ginger, but if you aren't I would choose a different juice. The ambiance here is very laid back & hipster without being over the top. A mix of people seem to be drawn here...ranging from snowboarding burn outs to old retirees meeting up for the weekly cup of joe. The only thing that could make this place better is if it coud pick up and move to St. Louis so I coud enjoy their juices and food more often!!!

    (5)
  • Ivan B.

Well done juices and a friendly staff. The owner is often found behind the counter, and always gives her personal suggestions for ways to make any juice mix even better. Every time I have to do some remote office work, this is my go to. I go for the "Heart Beet" myself

  • Ashley P.

I have to amend my review... maybe last time was a fluke but everyone has a bad day now and then and I'm definitely willing to chalk it up to that after having coffee here several times since. Iced coffee here is good and service is great. Everyone is really sweet. Happy to change my review and admit I was wrong.

    (4)
  • Keyan P.

There are at least 10 fresh squeeze juice options on the menu, all of which sound complex and great. I love the super-C, which is a mix of pineapple, orange, grapefruit and ginger. They are also dog-friendly, not just on the patio but inside also! I plan to try their breakfast sandwiches next because they sound delicious and most are under $5!

    (5)
  • Brittany R.

I guess I'm the only person who doesn't like dogs running around a food establishment?! I was very disgusted by this, as sweet and well mannered as they were I don't want them near my food and drinks! (I also thought dogs in food establishments was a code violation but maybe I'm wrong). The juice was good and the food was meh -the same as it is anywhere- nothing exciting for me. I would probably go back if I was hard up for some good healthy juice that I wanted while headed to the freeway. It does have a cool vibe and the people who served me were very nice.

    (2)
  • David E.

I think this place is awesome. The juices are out of this world and just taste so good. I tried several juices but I find myself always coming back to the super green. As for the bagel sandwiches, they are all great but you have to try one with the veggie sausage which tastes better than the real thing. The breakfast sandwich is another good choice. The service here is always so friendly and helpful even if you are just going through the drive thru for a quick drink.

  • Chris N.

Blue Star has never let me down with coffee, juice or food. The thing that sets Blue Star apart is the friendly atmosphere and neighborhood feel. It is a great place to take a deep breath and enjoy the environment. I'm excited about the new food menu items.

    (5)
  • Jason S.

I was really disappointed with Blue Star. I appreciated the ability to have dogs on the padio and I was impressed with the kindess and courtesy of the staff. My disappointment however is in regards to how long it took for my breakfast (20 minutes) and once it arrived the food was bland and burned. Hopefully it was just a fluke but I more than likely won't be returning.

  • Miriam P.

I had the Sharon Jones juice and it was fresh and delicious. I had the Millcreek bagel sandwich and loved it as well. I just wished they would have cut it in half, so maybe request it? Overall a fresh and yummy experience.

  • Eugene S.

Very simple menu with a decent amount of choices for juicing. I like that they offer bagels and other types of food as well. Only one star off as I am used to having more set choices for so if they expanded the house favorites section.

This is our FAVORITE coffee place in Utah. We have searched across the entire Salt Lake Valley for our favorite coffee place and Blue Star currently holds the title. It's a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. First off, the coffee is first rate. Do you know how hard it is to find a decaf that doesn't taste like chemicals? This place does decaf right, so you know their regular is going to be pretty kick ass. Also, they just happen to juice everything right in front of you. Nothing from concentrate. If you are feeling a little under the weather may I recommend the Detox? It is glorious and good for whatever ails you. No need to bother with those other pretentious coffee joints, Blue Star is all the quality without the fluff.

  • Kelsey C.

Great coffee but the real deal are the fresh-squeezes juices. I shied away from them (or their $5-6 price tags) long enough but after trying their orange-grapefruit - frothy, no ice (a cheap filler anyway), "I just watched the baristas slicing the fruit" fresh - I can almost never go back to just coffee here. Lots of exotic mixes too (you can add anything on their list - even jalapeños!) Wish it was a little more affordable so I could come more often but I get why they're priced the way they are. Be prepared to wait for a while for the juices though (sometimes upwards of 10 min) as they are time-consuming for the workers. Well worth the wait. Good service but sometimes not super-friendly. Lots of seating, good food too, hardly any outlets though so bring an extension cord or make sure your electronics are charged. Insider tip: In the winter park across the street in the overflow lot (NOT the lot right in front of the shop) or you will probably get stuck slipping around in the ice on the slope of the lot and have to be pushed out.

  • Natalie C.

Oh BlueStar juice, how I love thee... But I can't decide as to which juice I love more: the Cobra or Super Green? The woman at the counter really whipped me into a frenzy yesterday when she told me that my Cobra wouldn't be "as red as usual" because she was using the last of the organic beets from the farmers market. Yes, please! Oh, and I love a punch-card system. Although I never seem to have a card with me when I go and end up starting a new one. I currently have 3 cards with 2, 3, and 6 punches, respectively. Each in a different coat pocket.

My husband and I had a hankering for breakfast sandwhiches this morning, but we weren't in the mood for a chain place like Einstein. Blue Star had good reviews so we decided to pick up a couple of bagel sandwhiches. They were SO mediocre. Einstein honestly has much better sandwhiches, which says a lot because I'm really not a huge fan of theirs. The cheese on my sandwich didn't even melt a little, which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I had to microwave it when I got home. These pretty much tasted like the bagel sandwhiches at McDonald's (aside from the fact that Blue Star uses real egg). Maybe this place is known for their coffee and juices, but based on their lack of ability to make even a halfway decent bagel sandwhich, we definitely won't be returning.

  • Nick W.

Still the best fresh juice in town. Bluestar has revamped their menu, incorporated some new homemade cream cheese blends, and dialed in a tasty dessert menu. Bluestar still has a bit of a wait during peak times, but it is worth it. If you are in a hurry - go to the McDonald's drive thru. If you want locally sourced, homegrown quality, food and drink - and have some time to chill - Bluestar is the place for you. Unique Local Tip: If you are looking for a cool catering idea for your next big event or party - rent the Blue Star Juice Caboose - fresh juices and beverages made right at your front door.

What an amazing morning find! I took 2300 E to I-80 on my way to work this morning and came upon Blue Star and hopped in line at the drive through. DRIVE THROUGH! I love that. I am always in such a rush in the mornings. I tried the Cobra which is carrot, apple, beet, and Ginger. It's a little on the earthy tasting side but not as much "dirt" flavor as I anticipated. I really hate beets but the gal working there talked me into it. It was pretty good and I loved the bite of the ginger. I suppose that is why it's named the Cobra! I also grabbed an asiago bagel with garlic-chive cream cheese and had an OMG breakfast moment. The bagel was light and delicious and the cream cheese was unlike any other. I wanted to go back and get another one, it was SO SO good. I will definitely be back because I really want to try that blueberry, banana, kale smoothie!! They also have bagel sandwiches and a full espresso menu. Lots to choose from, and if my breakfast was any indication of how the rest of their offerings are, you will be blown away.

Cute little spot off the beaten path... Had a breakfast bagel and smoothie concoction, both were quite good!

Great little place that can be easily overlooked as you're getting off the freeway. Took me a year of driving by to finally stop in. I'm glad I did because this is a great little place. They don't have that much to offer in the way of variety (all of their sandwhiches are bagel sandwhiches), but the stuff they do is tasty. The juices are fresh and delicious. My only real gripe, and is the reason I docked a star, is the service. This place almost always seems understaffed. The employees are stretched too thin between making food, taking orders, and working the drive thru. I'll stop in on this place every once in awhile, but having to wait for something so seemingly simple can get annoying.

    (4)
  • Randal S.

The best thing about Blue Star is that your juice is made from fresh fruit right in front of you. We watched them cut up the fruit and juice it, pour ithem into the cups, and hand them to us. Now that is the definition of fresh. It is a great place to get some healthy eats before or after an outdoor trek. And I'm not usually a fan of bagels but I liked Blue Star's, so that's something. Bottom line: it is the perfect little restaurant at the base of the mountain for those that like to ejoy Salt Lake City's outdoors.

Hot chocolate is awesome! Everyone is always so nice to. Even give dog treats to furry customers. Never had to wait long for any of my orders.

This place is a beautiful reminder that stereotypes are rooted in some element of truth. The juice was fantastic and the clerk couldn't have been more helpful. I was then up-sold to a veggie buritto which is so cliche but it was really delicious! The decor is perfect for a place to plop with your mac all day and do whatever it is people are doing all day at coffee shops. The cherry on top was this bitter professor from the University who was going on a rant because his whole class stated they didn't want to stay in Utah after they graduate (not too shocking) and supposedly Portland was the number one spot but this guy claimed Portland was evil because they have a lot of strip clubs. This rant was repeated to any person willing to listen. It was all too amusing and the food and service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend this place and probably will go back just don't tell the man preaching gibberish that you want to move to Portland!

The perfect study spot with Kombucha on tap, which is amazing. The owner, George, is amazingly sweet and generous.

Fresh and So good! I have been here several times for the juice and love the super greens but I was also blown away with the bagles. I had a cheese jalapeno bagle sandwich which was AWESOME! The employees are cool and kick like the atmosphere.

They can make any juice you crave for. I love their jalapeño cream cheese on either wheat or asiago bagel. Their coffee are just delicious as well. Very friendly customer service. I love this place!

Been meaning to check this spot out...after reading about the bagel sammy's, we came by on a chilly, late morning for coffee and breakfast. They run a one person show...the girl at the counter was busy with the drive through line and the few of us at her register. She handled the situation beautifully and continued to put out good product. I will definitely try a juice next time but for our first visit, we went with egg bagels and coffee. The bagels were surprisingly good and the eggs were tasty. A HUGE sandwich...definitely impressed. Coffee was a bit weak for me but the adorable young lady gave me an extra shot on the house. Love the location, love the vibe, service was great...looking forward to another monster bagel sandwich in the near future!

  • Claudia H.

I love this place. Their fresh juices are not only delicious, but they will do ANYTHING for you (want some lime in that SuperGreen? No problem. A little Pineapple? Sure!). They don't burn their beans like some coffee joints, and are happy as clams every time you drive up. Great people, great drinks. I can't comment on the food as I'm gluten-free and they have really no options. I hope they could partner with someplace like City Cakes for some GF muffins or cookies, then it would just be HEAVEN ON EARTH!

This place is a gem in Salt Lake. My boyfriend and I made a few trips here while visiting home in October. The service was always wonderful and the drinks/food is absolutely delicious. The first trip in my man and I ordered a juice called "The Cobra" which consists of carrots, apple, beet, and ginger. The ginger has quite a kick and I loved it. Super flavorful. On our second trip in we each ordered a soy latte (the liquid to foam ratio was SPOT ON which is a big deal for me) and The Mediterranean breakfast sandwich with veggie sausage, mine on a wheat bagel and the man's on a sun dried tomato bagel. Talk about flavor and portions! My taste buds were rejoicing AND I didn't eat anything for the rest of the day. If you haven't been, you're missing out.

I walk in to find 2 dogs running around, seriously? Dog friendly? So cool! I saw this place exiting Holladay 2300 South and so glad I did. Friendly staff, clean and simple coffee and juice menu. They also have all kinds of sandwiches, nothing over 6 bucks, insane! Outdoor seating A+ Ga-bye 33rd/ 20th, hello BlueStar! Dark Roast= A+ Orange-Pineapple-Carrot-Ginger Juice= A+

As a health-obsessed foodie, I love any place that has veggie juices. This fit the bill and has a drive-thru! Pros: -very healthy, yummy veggie juices. I love the kale combo. This is definitely for someone who likes these types of juices, otherwise you will gag getting it down. -delicious breakfast sandwiches, try the veggie sausage. It was surprisingly tasty. -DRIVE THRU! I went when it was snowing, so staying in the car for the process was very convenient. Cons: -none. Verdict: This is a must for all health-conscious peeps, great for picking up a carbo-loaded bite before hitting the slopes.

Im currently doing a juice plan and since I travel quite a bit it becomes hard to find these places. A quick Yelp search and I found this place. I came in and I was the only customer. The pretty red head who took my order was very friendly and set me up with a great veggie juice. I will for sure return to this location. They also have a location in Downtown which I will try as well. Prices were decent for the juice.

During tax season, I was a frequent to BlueStar due to the highly convenient location. The breakfast sandwiches are good, and there are some fun juice options. Unfortunately, this place has some very large problems. 1. They messed up my order every single time. They always gave me either the wrong bagel, the wrong cheese, the wrong meat, or all three. It seems like they had a complete disregard for what my actual order was. I didn't mind much because the sandwiches were still good, but if you're picky about whether you have cheddar vs. american, or bacon vs. sausage, you will not be pleased. 2. Be prepared for a long wait. Even though I was usually the only car in the drive thru, it somehow took several minutes to toast a bagel. 3. Beware of "The Cobra". This drink is disgusting. I asked the girl who worked there what juice she recommended, and was unfortunately given this drink. It tasted very strongly of ginger, so unless you're a big ginger fan, stay away. 4. The juice is always warm. I ordered juice only 3 times, but each time, it was lukewarm. If you want to have cold juice, I recommend asking for ice. 5. You will pay a pretty penny. Everything here, especially the juices, is ridiculously overpriced.

  • Justin O.

Veggie Juices good. Bagel sandwiches - good variety , healthy, tasty. Service - initially mucked up my order (prob because of my accent) other wise helpful but takes time (more like a restaurant) if the place has more than two or three people waiting.

What a great experience today! I ride my road bike past there and today I stopped for the first time. The staff was super friendly. A great place to end a ride today from Mill Creek Canyon. Definitely I will revisit. Thank you Blue Star

  • Lawrence O.

The food and drinks are pretty good but don't expect to pop in and out. They are SLOW and that might be putting it lightly. You can be the second person in line and you will wait 15 min for a small cup of drip coffee. I visited at least 10 times to make sure they weren't just having a bad day. I liked stopping on my breaks from work but get 10 min, not the required 15-20 to get a cup of coffee so I have stopped going. Sorry blue star, you had so much potential but I just don't have time to stop anymore.

Got coffee and the freshly-made juices for the kids. They loved them. Always great to find an independent coffee house when you're traveling cross-country, so that I don't need to go to one of the thousands of Starbucks on the road.

This place has REALLY good coffee. 5 stars for the coffee, and I spent the last 6 years in Seattle with Stumptown, Vivace, and other world class roasters. Fresh, balanced, and not overly hot (important). The baristas are super friendly (go inside for best service).

BlueStar has a laid back, quiet atmosphere that I find attractive in a coffee shop. I have come here for a few extended periods of time while getting repairs on my car at the garage next door. Each time I have come in, it is relatively quiet and not too packed. (The most noise you'll experience is when they are running the juicer.) Occasionally you might see a dog or two wandering about, as the shop is very dog-friendly. KRCL or perhaps some Led Zep will play in the background, nicely complementing the big leather couches and well-worn tables and chairs. The coffee is smooth and tastes great, and you can even get free refills if you get a mug to stay. Their breakfast bagel sandwiches are quite scrumptious as well; I would recommend the Mediterranean. The only thing I will take a star off for (I wish it were just half a star) would be the speediness of service. The staff are very warm and kind, and I know the shop isn't the most traffic-heavy in the world, but perhaps they could benefit from one more person behind the counter. I know BlueStar isn't like some well-oiled factory like Starbucks can be, but it's a little disheartening when you step up to the counter for service, and most of the time both people have their backs turned to you while doing something else (or maybe just chatting with one another).

Always have had great experiences here. Great, helpful staff. Delicious variety of juice's. Amazing coffee. My kids love their homemade cookies and hot chocolate. Great bagel sandwiches. Even a doggie treat to take home for our pup. Inside is super cool. Cozy, relaxing. Patio is awesome. If I could go there every day I would.

Blue Star Cafe also known as Blue Star Coffee and Juice. Once again another little hidden gem just off the 2300 east freeway exit. Rather hidden in the suburb of the Millcreek area. But a must have for any coffee goer or anyone just looking for a nice place to relax. Great little place. Very vibrant, with classic bicycle pictures covering the walls, and a very big patio section with a piano outback free to play for anyone. They also offer a drive through to get your great food on the go. The menu for their brunch and lunch menu is kind of on the small side with not to many choices. However they are all great choices with a great taste. They offer breakfast sandwiches and also sandwiches for lunch. They have several house blend coffees and homemade juices. Along with many other tasty choices. A great place to go and relax in the morning with a few friends while enjoying the food, atmosphere, and the very friendly and helpful staff.

Stopped by the Blue Star after consulting Yelp before my wife bought some half priced coupons. The Blue Star is cozy and has a very independent vibe to it. I couldn't help but feel it was almost my obligation to be reading a City Weekly newspaper while I was there. I had the Southwest Banini which was ok until I put some of their salsa on it, which honestly made the sandwich. I had an Americano which I didn't particularly care for, I'm not sure if the shots we sour or if I'm just so used to my home brew but it just didn't taste right to me. Luckily I would easily give the place another chance as my wife's selections were quite tasty too. I will definitely have to try out a fresh juice next time. Plus the food is a great deal, only $5 for the banini and $2 for my coffee.

Nice coffee joint with good service, good coffee roasts, and a good food menu. Great breakfast sandwiches! All their juice is made fresh! A very local and urban feel that is themed toward bicyclists hanging out around the canyons. Very cool decor and roomy place to hang out. Free wifi, piano on the back patio, a drive through, right at the freeway on/off ramp. AND THEY ARE DOG FRIENDLY! :D

COFFEE SHOP: I have a soft spot in my heart for adorable little hippy coffee/juice shops, especially ones with bike-shops attached. Blue Star delivered. I got a cafe au lait which was fine, I think I usually like my drip coffee stronger, but I will just get espresso next time. The "Cheesy Bagini" was awesome. Couple types of melty cheese, tomato, with horseradish on a jalepeno cheddar bagel - YUM! The horseradish was laid on so heavy I teared up a coupe times, but still yummy! The Oh Brother Where Art Thou-esque Pandora station they were playing was perfect. Comfy couches and tons of outdoor space, altho it was snowing kinda heavy when I went. I will definitely come back for the juices, they looked great too. ------------- BIKE SHOP: Came back the next day as I saw there was a bike shop attached. The guys were SUPER nice and helped me out a bunch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Love this place. A juice bar- what a delicious, healthy, and caffeine-free option for certain mornings and late afternoons! The only unfortunate but understandable thing is that these juices don't come cheap- which totally makes sense when you see them popping tons of fruit/veggies into the machine to make your juice, but still stings the wallet! The cafe itself is painfully cute with a couch seating section, a few tables for getting work done, and also a patio out back for those wanting to be outdoors. There's wifi and I had no problem finding an outlet for my computer. As for the food, the mediterranean bagel panini was oookay. Nothing out of this world- maybe it was lacking some salt, but definitely fresh and edible nonetheless.

Great place! I always get coffee on my way into work in the morning. They made my day today by placing a mustache on my lid! I laughed all the way to work! Great coffee, and great service!

This is the best real juice bar I've ever been in, I mean real juice, beet, kale, carrot, etc! Very excited to find it. The breakfast sandwiches are divine. I couldn't eat the bread as it has wheat, would have given 5 stars for gluten free bread. Free Internet, very friendly low key place. Wish we had one in Connecticut !

I recently returned to SLC from Portland, Oregon. I've been looking for a coffee house that is as good as my local favorites in Portland. I stopped off at BlueStar on 2300 East and tried a latte, in fact I splurged and ordered an egg nog latte (I don't normally add flavors to my latte). I can honestly say that the quad latte I ordered was better than anything I tried in Portland (and I've had some mighty fine lattes in Portland). You've made a new fan. I'll be back! When my coffee drinking son-in-law visits from Portland, I'll be taking him to BlueStar! Of course, coffee isn't everything (almost though), the service was friendly and down to earth. I felt right at home surrounded by all the fresh fruit, delicious goodies (try the peanut butter butterscotch cookie), and of course the wonderful smell of freshly roasted, freshly brewed coffee! I proudly give BlueStar 5 yelps of joy!

Love the hippy vibe to this place. Flesh, healthy juice was exactly what I needed after 13 hours on the road and another 13 left to go. The perfect place to sit with my laptop and take in refreshment. Also, loved that it's dog friendly. Also, they have a drive through!

Love the Red Veggie sandwich on Jalapeno bagel. OMG I crave it. Bagels are from Stone Ground and then they put them in the pannini maker. It's really good. Loved my java too. Great neighborhood spot :) All positive from this girl

The staff at Blue Star Cafe was very polite, and the establishment was clean. The Kony 2012 poster screamed fauxtivism (fake activism) and the girl making our drinks NEEDS more training. It was disgustingly apparent that the shots used in my Mocha, and the shots used in my Moms Latte were watery and pulled by an inexperienced Barista. I'll go back in a few months to see if she has her shit figured out by then.

The best neighborhood hang out. Owner George Starks juices fresh fruits and veggies and roasts his own killer coffee. Ultimate Grilled Cheese and Banini sandwiches (on Bagels) are worth the visit. A great collection of vintage Schwinn bikes, big front deck to yack it up with friends and occasionally on Saturday evenings, eclectic bands play live music. Last weekend the street was lined with Harleys. A Biker Coffee Bar? That's Blue Star Cafe on any given day (or night).

Blue Star rocks!! Great juice, great breakfast sandwiches, and one of the best bike mechanics around is there as well so you can drop your bike off when you stop in for breakfast. Win win

Good coffee, check - good service, check - good breakfast sandwiches, check. In a world of Starbucks, it was nice to find a place like this when visiting from out of town.

Stopping here is an almost weekly ritual for me and my son on our walk around the area. Today, however, it was getting close to lunch and I decided to grab some sandwiches for us. I am SOOO glad I did! While their sandwiches are only made on bagels, they're not dense, brick like bagels- quite the opposite. We had the b.l.t w/ cheddar instead of swiss- was such a great sandwich- we're going to start making this part of our lunch routine! George is always so nice and the baristas always have you covered! Highly recommended after a walk/bike ride/trip to the dog park!

Fresh juice!! Woot woot!! I love fresh juices and I loved this place. Their fruits and veggies looked fresh and who knew that spinach, kale with orange, apples and other fruits would taste so yum!! I have not tried their sandwiches even though they looked pretty good. But 5 stars for fresh juice without any additives!!
